Volunteer with SWCCDC
SWCCDC is run entirely by volunteers from the information security industry. Whether you can contribute a few hours remotely or spend a weekend on-site in Tulsa, there’s a way to get involved.
How You Can Help
Year-Round Roles
Running a regional competition takes more than game day. We need help throughout the year with:
- Social media and content creation: managing posts, writing recaps, creating graphics
- Sponsor management: coordinating with sponsors, managing relationships, and logistics
- Event management: planning logistics for a 100+ person, multi-day event
- Website and design: updating site content, creating artwork and marketing materials
- Outreach: helping new schools learn about CCDC and get teams registered
These roles are mostly remote and flexible. If you have a skill that could help, we probably need it.
Competition Teams
Some of these roles involve on-site work during the regional event in Tulsa, but many contributions can be done remotely.
Black Team: builds and operates the competition infrastructure. You may be assigned specific hosts or services to deliver and troubleshoot during the event. If you like building labs, managing networks, or wrangling VMs under pressure, this is your team.
White Team: handles the business side of the competition. That includes writing injects, grading competitor submissions, and working with the scenario to create realistic business challenges for teams to solve.
Red Team: the live adversary. Red Team members attack competitor networks during the event. This team is managed separately. If you’re interested, reach out to us directly.
Orange Team: plays in-world characters (employees, customers, contractors) that interact with competitors during the game. Great for people who want to be part of the action without a heavy technical commitment.
